Event description

Description

The SNAP® Program is a gender-sensitive, evidence-based program that teaches children with disruptive behaviour problems, and their parents, how to stop and think before they act and make better choices “in the moment”. Developed by the Child Development Institute (CDI), the Program helps children between the ages of 6 and 11 to learn self-regulation, self-control and problem-solving skills. Children who enter the program may have engaged in aggressive, antisocial behaviour, and / or have come into contact with authority figures at school or in the community.

We will review the SNAP® Program and share the program material. You will share your experience and knowledge about Black children aged 6 to 11 and provide your input into how the program materials should be adapted from a cultural identity and anti-Black racism lens.

Please register to attend the session. Attendance at each meeting is limited and spots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. The discussion will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end promptly at 9:00 p.m.

Please help us keep these meetings scent-free.
