EWB Presents the Global Development Case Competition Kickoff!

*This event will count towards 1 PD point for Engineering students taking Engineering Strategies and Practices*

In the past, the Global Development Case Competition takes place over the course of about 2 weeks, where the case brief is provided in advance.

This year, build your own case based on local or global issues that interest YOU. We’ll be hosting a series of workshops over the Winter Term to facilitate idea generation, team formation, and general information gathering. These workshops will be facilitated by Not-for-Profit partners such as UNACTO (United Nations Association of Canada - Toronto). The process is simple:

  1. Build your own case brief based on problems you’re passionate to explore. These problems can fall under the broader umbrella of social justice or sustainable development issues on a local or global scale.

  2. Consult with mentors from the EWB National Office or from our Not-for-Profit partners to ask questions, learn how to build a case, and grow your network.

  3. Form teams, solution ideas, and compete to win prize money and a chance to become a long-term EWB incubator project.

The kickoff section is happening Monday, January 22nd from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Wallberg Room 130. A variety of healthy snacks and juice will be provided!

We're excited to announce Miriam Hird-Younger from the EWB National Office as our guest speaker. She'll be hosted a short workshop on identifying root causes to social development issues to kickoff this year's case competition!

See you there :)
