Event description

Description

Leadercast Women 2018 is the annual, one-day conference where you’ll be inspired and guided by women leaders who wish to share their insights, experiences and revelations on how to be the best leader you can possibly be.

Our world-renowned speakers will make a deep impression on your consciousness, galvanize you for action, and show you how you can transform yourself into the most effective type of leader.

You’ll be impressed by the achievements of our speakers and riveted by the courage and talents of these women. You will learn how you, too, can be a leader who motivates people and champions ideas in ways you never thought possible.

The 2018 women speakers are:

  • Clematine Wamariya, storyteller and human rights advocate committed to inspiring others through the power and art of storytelling. Her personal account of her childhood in Rwanda, displacement throughout war-torn countries, and experiences in various refugee camps have encouraged myriads of people to persevere despite great odds. With no formal education before the age of 13, Clemantine went on to graduate from Yale University with a BA in Comparative Literature.
  • Barbara Bush co-founded Global Health Corps (GHC) in 2009 to mobilize a global community of young leaders to build the movement for health equity. To-date, GHC has fostered over 900 young leaders who believe health is a human right and who take an innovative approach to solving some of the world’s biggest global health challenges. In 2015, Barbara was recognized as one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business.
  • Jenna Bush Hager has seen firsthand how small change can make a large difference in a single life. Currently the chair of UNICEF’s Next Generation, an initiative dedicated to reducing the number of preventable childhood deaths around the world, Hager traveled throughout Latin America and the Caribbean with UNICEF where she saw firsthand the plight faced by the underprivileged.
  • Molly Fletcher is a trailblazer in every sense of the word– a rare talent of business wisdom, relationship brilliance and unwavering optimism. As a CEO, she shares her unconventional and unique techniques that made her one of the first female sports agents in the high stakes, big ego world of professional sports and now a successful entrepreneur.
  • Celeste Headlee is an award-winning journalist, professional speaker and author of the book We Need To Talk – How To Have Conversations That Matter (Harper Wave). After four years as the Executive Producer of On Second Thought at Georgia Public Radio, Celeste is back as a guest host with National Public Radio in Washington DC.
  • Julia Landauer is a 2-time champion NASCAR racer from New York City. Having won in many different racing series in her 15 year career, Julia is now making history with her results in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West, with televisesd races on NBCSN. Beyond the race track, Julia is a graduate of Stanford University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, and Society. During college Julia was also a contestant on season 26 of CBS’ reality TV show SURVIVOR.
  • Jess Ekstrom, Founder and CEO of Headbands of Hope, Professional Speaker, Author, and Writer, participated in an internship at a wish-granting organization for kids with life-threatening illnesses. She discovered that a lot of kids losing their hair to chemotherapy loved to wear headbands after hair loss, but they were only given wigs and hats. Armed with inspiration, she spent her junior year at North Carolina State University developing her company, Headbands of Hope. For every item sold, a headband is given to a child with cancer. By the time she graduated, she had donated thousands of headbands to kids with cancer and was elected to give the commencement speech at her graduation to 20,000 people.
  • Ritu Bhasin, Diversity and Leadership Development Expert and Author, is committed to disrupting the status quo to build a world in which each of us celebrates our own differences and the differences of others. She has delivered talks to thousands, inspiring leaders to be more inclusive, and encouraging those who have experienced oppression to be more empowered. Ritu has won numerous awards for her work, including the City of Toronto’s William P. Hubbard Award for Race Relations.
  • Marilyn Tam, Ph.D. is a Speaker, best selling Author, Consultant, Board Certified Executive/Corporate Coach, CEO of Marilyn Tam & Co. and Founder and Executive Director of Us Foundation.
