More about the Slaight New Venture Competition: For seventeen years the Slaight New Venture Competition in the Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM) at Ryerson University has fostered student entrepreneurship by awarding two $25,000 prizes of startup seed money to two TRSM students - one female and one male. Through the Basecamp program run out of Sandbox by Ryerson’s Digital Media Zone, the two competition winners will be connected to support and mentorship opportunities in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including Ryerson University Zones and a one-year free subscription to Clausehound’s library of small business contracts. Previous competitors include Soapbox, which received $3MM in seed funding in 2015 and is now part of Ryerson's Digital Media Zone.

If you have a new business idea and are interested in entering the competition, we are accepting 2018 Slaight New Venture Competition entries until 11:59 pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. For complete competition information, including competition contacts  and the competition entry form, click here.

We thank the Slaight Family Foundation for their generous support of the entrepreneurial spirit at TRSM.
