AI Workshop And Panel Track (Afternoon)

We will invite Xiaozhou Wang, nicked named "Little Boat" on Kaggle, to present a practical machine learning workshop. Xiaozhou is ranked 4th globally overall on Kaggle, with the highest Kaggle title "Grand Master" granted. He is the Co-founder & Chief Data Scientist of Quartic.ai.

AI Student Research Panel

Are you curious about what it is like to be an undergraduate or graduate machine learning researcher? We have invited five ML student researchers who have worked at Mila, Vector Institute, Nvidia, and Princess Margaret Cancer Research. They will discuss their insights after going into these institutes and organizations and share some of their strategies for personal development. The panelists will answer both moderator-curated questions and questions from the audience. Come meet with them and ask them any questions you have been searching for answers from experienced peers!

Research Talk

Sicong (Sheldon) Huang is currently an undergrad at U of T Sciencel. In this talk, Sicong will present their work on musical timbre transfer, which was published on ICLR 2019. They aim to manipulate the timbre of a sound sample from one instrument to match another instrument while preserving other musical content, such as pitch, rhythm, and loudness. In his talk, he will share the final result as well as some of the challenges while working on this project.

Paper: TimbreTron: A WaveNet(CycleGAN(CQT(Audio))) Pipeline for Musical Timbre Transfer

Authors: Sicong Huang, Qiyang Li, Cem Anil, Xuchan Bao, Sageev Oore, Roger B. Grosse
