Event description

About this Event

Have you ever thought of making a short film? Were you looking for the motivation or challenge to write, direct, produce or edit a short film, but need an excuse to do it?

Digi60 is a "catch festival" - meaning a filmmaker or team signs up/registers to participate, and at our Kick-off event we release our thematic catch for the season, which filmmakers have to incorporate into their film. Other items that are provided during the catch release include the length of the film, total days until the film is due, and any other restrictions that might need to be incorporated into their films. Digi60's signature Fall Festival has a 60-day window from catch release to submission (thus the 60 in our name).

If you are a creative filmmaker or video artist and want to challenge yourself in a visual medium, Digi60 is the right place for you!

Filmmakers receive a festival pass, access to networking, professional development workshops, panels and screenings. All filmmakers who complete the challenge receive an artist fee equivalent to the registration fee as well.

Non-competition films will also be screened at the festival through community partners and alumni filmmakers.

For more information, please email info@digi60.org

You must pre-register for the event here on EventBrite. Please take your confirmation information and complete the registration form on the Digi60 website at: http://www.digi60.org/2019-digi60-festival

*Registration is limited.

The Festival Kicks-off on Saturday October 5, 2019 at SAW Video.

At our Catch & Pitch event, the catch will be revealed (including all pertinent rules and information) and filmmakers will have an opportunity to hear pitches from screenwriters. This is a FREE networking event that takes place at the SAW Video at Arts Court (2 Daly Ave.) and is open to all members of the film industry including filmmakers, directors, producers, writers, actors and those who just want to check it out.

The Digi60 Filmmakers' Festival was founded on the principle that new and emerging filmmakers should be encouraged to create short films, and be able to screen them in a setting that provided a real world film festival experience, complete with jury evaluation, awards, and gala. We have seen many Digi60 Alumni go on to become professional members of the film and television industry. The festival also aims to promote Ottawa as a sustainable film industry destination with desirable cast and crew available for hire.

Digi60 is not just about making films. We also make filmmakers.
