Keynote Speaker: Matthew Tokarik

Matthew works with designers, builders, and developers across North America to deploy geothermal heat pump and renewable energy systems through financing and installation services, in pursuit of significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ultimately reaching Net-Zero building operation. He has previous experience working as a Building Energy Consultant developing energy and carbon reduction strategies for buildings and communities.

Matthew is actively involved in the North American Passive House community and is passionate about extending Passive House construction practices to the commercial market as a primary means of reducing heating and cooling loads. He is also a Sessional Instructor at Ryerson University and McMaster University, where he leads courses and seminars in sustainability, building science, and building energy use
