As a part of Innovation Week 2019, organized by the city of New Westminster, Public Services and Procurement Canada is partnering with the city to present to you the 2019 New West Innovation Forum!

Please join us at the Anvil Centre (777 Columbia Street) on March 6, 2019 for the 2019 New West Innovation Forum. The morning will showcase various government support programs that are available to Canadian companies in the R&D and innovation space, and a Keynote speaker will help transition to an afternoon of small group speed Q&A sessions with business experts.

1:00 Keynote Speaker Dylan Jones, Founder of Coast Protein 

Bio: Dylan is motivated to create and guide brands that are purpose-driven and create positive change in the economy of the future.  He has been the founding CEO and now director of a disruptive carbon dioxide sequestration technology, achieving pre-commerical recognition from the NRG Cosia Carbon XPRIZE as well raised over $2 million investment in pre-seed stage funding.

He is also the Founder and CEO of Coast Protein Inc. Coast Protein is a world leading in sustainable real-food CPG product development and education and is the first company in North America to launch all-natural cricket protein bars and powders as complementary product lines. He has spoken about the future of edible insects in person across Canada, in Silicon Valley, and have received media attention from the CBC, BNN, CBS, Forbes, and Inc.

He also have a passion for giving back to his community and has sat a director and treasurer of the New Westminster Environmental Partners, is currently a YELL Entrepreneurship Mentor to high school aged kids, and is actively engaged in seeking new opportunities.

2:00 - 4:00 pm: Small Group Speed Expert Q & A

Signup earlier in the day for a session with a business mentor in subjects such as sustainability, marketing/branding/PR, finance, human resources, accessibility, commercial real estate, legal matters and privacy. Each expert will speak for a few moments – a few “top tips” to get the conversation going, and the rest is a discussion or Q &A. Sessions are timed at 13 minutes and 2 minutes for transition. People can sign up for up to 8 sessions.

Ben Baker is the President of Your Brand Marketing. He provides brand and communication strategy to help B2B brands to Stop being commodities and instead be brands worth loving. He is the author of “Powerful Personal Brands: a hands-on guide to understanding yours,” regular columnist for BC Business, Insurance Nerds and other publications and host of the IHEART Radio syndicated show.
