Event description
Ontario Health Teams: What does it mean for our kids and the mental health system?

About this Event

Over 40% of Ontario government program spending is allocated to health care. The health care system is complex, sometimes fragmented and can be confusing when trying to access services, especially when seeking mental health care services for children and youth. The government is making significant change to the systems that support patients, families and caregivers through the introduction of Ontario Health Teams across the province.

Join us on April 14th as we speak to a panel of experts about the Ontario Health Team in East Toronto which is known as the East Toronto Health Partners. One of the first announced in the province, leaders in the East Toronto Health Partners will talk about their hopes and aspirations, the work done to-date and their plans to deliver on a new and improved health care system, including what this means for children, youth and families and their ability to access mental health care.

Moderator: Deb Shime, Change Consultant, Capitalize for Kids

Panellists:

Anne Babcock, President & CEO, Woodgreen Community Services

Sarah Downey, President & CEO, Michael Garron Hospital/Toronto East Health Network

David Willis, Director, Toronto's Lead Agency for Children's Mental Health
