Event Information
About this Event
*Registration closes November 13, 2020*
Be a part of a 48-hour idea competition that encourages post-secondary students to work together to provide technology solutions for remote learning!
*Registration is open to all students enrolled in a Manitoba post-secondary institution*
With the rapid shift to remote learning in the spring of 2020, Manitoba's University-and College-level students began to take the majority, if not all, of their courses online. As a student in this new all-online era, you've undoubtedly experienced the frustrations of a lagging Zoom lecture or heard about the concerns around academic integrity that come along with remote learning.
Do you have an idea that you think could improve the remote learning experience for students and/or instructors? If yes, this is the competition for you!
The Hackathon is a 48-hour idea competition that encourages students from different disciplines to work together remotely to answers questions like:
- How can we make remote learning more effective?
- How can we enhance student engagement and maintain academic integrity in a virtual setting?
Throughout the competition weekend, participants will work with mentors from across the tech and business sectors to help shape and prepare their remote learning solution for the Sunday pitch presentation. At the end of the 48-hours, teams will present their solutions virtually to a panel of judges for a chance to win cash prizes.
Teams will have access to all necessary platforms to communicate with one another, including presenting the solution, during the event.
It's free to register! With $10,000 in prizes to be won, this is a competition you do not want to miss! Register as a team (2-5 participants) or individually (your team will be randomly selected for you).
*Registration is open to all students enrolled in a Manitoba post-secondary institution*
*Event runs from 12 pm CDT on Friday, November 22 until 12 pm CDT on Sunday, November 24.*
