Event description
Kawartha Farmfest is an annual one-day, self-guided driving tour of farms and rural attractions throughout Kawartha Lakes.

About this event

Kawartha Farmfest - Self-driving Tour of Farms

Bring the whole family for a COVID safe, fun filled day of farm and food experiences across Kawartha Lakes on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 10 am - 4 pm

See www.kawarthafarmfest.com for full details on farm sites, farmers' markets and rural attractions included in Kawartha Farmfest.

Kawartha Farmfest makes its annual return on Saturday October 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The self-guided tour features 14 sites including stops at 9 family farms. Health and safety protocols remain in place to allow for physical distancing and contact tracing will be facilitated through online registration. See website for full COVID-safety protocols like physical distancing, handwashing, reduced touch points, masking and increased sanitation.

Kawartha Farmfest is an opportunity for people to engage with area agricultural producers in a fun, family friendly and safe way. It’s a chance for people to experience the fall harvest first hand while learning about the farms in the community. The participating host farms are graciously opening their doors to provide tours and answer questions about their operation. Kawartha Farmfest is both a celebration of agriculture and brings the community together in a hands-on experiential way.

2 Ticket Types Required:

Each person requires 2 types of tickets:

1. General Admission Ticket: Adults are $5 and Kids under 14 are free but must be registered to participate.

2. Farm Site Entry Tickets for each farm you will attend at the hour you plan to enter. Farm Site Entry Tickets are timed by the hour and are free but required for entry. Each person in your group requires a Farm Site Entry Ticket for Each Farm You plan to attend for the hour you plan to enter.

Participants should select no more than one farm per hour to allow time to visit the farm, participate in the activities, and travel to the next farm. Also allow time for washroom breaks, snacks and lunch. All admissions, registrations and site entry tickets must be ordered online through this Eventbrite site prior to the end of ticket sales at 6pm on October 1, if not sold out earlier. Tickets will NOT be available at tour sites on event day. No walk-ins.

What's a day out without a stop for Kawartha Dairy ice cream?

As a special treat, each adult admission ticket holder will receive a "Buy one cone, Get one cone free" at Kawartha Dairy in Lindsay or Bobcaygeon coupon. Valid during Farmfest only. Saturday, October 2, 2021. Coupon will be distributed during checkin at your first Farm Site, and must be surrendered at time of purchase.

Online Registration Admission Purchase and Farm Site Entry Tickets:

Prior to registering, please review the full list of Sites to plan your day. You will be prompted to schedule your Farm Site visits during the registration process and cannot add or change selections once you have completed your registration. To assist you, please see this Google Map of all 2021 Farmfest Sites. Be sure to leave time for travel between Sites, as well as stops at the Farmers' Markets and at Kawartha Dairy. Attendees are asked not to linger at the Farm Sites to ensure they have travel time to the next site, and so other guests can enter the site to enjoy the tour. Entry tickets are not required for Farmers' Markets or Kawartha Dairy Stores.

Tickets are available only online for contact tracing purposes and to manage site capacity limits. Ticket sales will end at 6pm on October 1, the night before the event, if not sold out in advance.

Each farm site will have attendance limits based upon provincial regulations and HKPR Heath Unit at the time of the tour ensuring that 2 metre physical distancing is respected for participants plus capacity limits of 75% for outdoor spaces and 50% for indoor spaces.

To register:

Step 1: Purchase the number of $5 adult admission tickets and Free Child admission tickets required. Enter each ticket holder's name and contact info as prompted to register them as participants. Once you have entered the first person you can copy the attendee info and just change the names for the other ticket holders.

Step 2: Select timed "Farm Site Entry" tickets for each person in your group for each farm you wish to visit at the time you plan to attend. Choose the time that you plan to attend each farm and enter the number of tickets required for your full group (children and adults) for that hour at that farm. Do this for each of the farms you plan to attend. Note, children under 14 are free but need to be registered and have a Farm Site Entry ticket for each farm site for the time of entry.
