After postponing our in-person symposium last April, Medical Students for Choice is excited to announce that the virtual 2nd Annual Canadian Symposium is now happening April 2021! MSFC works with medical students all across North America to create future leaders in the field of reproductive health. Registration is open for medical students across Canada from any year of training.

0810-0830: State of the Nation Address – Challenges with Abortion Services in Canada

0830-0900: The Impact of COVID-19 on Abortion Care

1000-1055: Reproductive Services for Indigenous Peoples

1100-1155: SELECTION

Participants will select one of the following:

1) Refugee Health (1 hour) OR;

2) Care for Pediatric Population (30 mins) AND Care for Transgender Patients (30 mins)

1200-1230: Abortion Training in Canada: How to Become a Provider

1300-1355: Participants will select 1 of the following 2 sessions:

1) Patient Counselling Workshop;

2) Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA) Workshop

NOTE: In order to be eligible for workshop registration, students must be registered for the full day event. Students who are registered for only a workshop will be contact by the committee to let them know they are not registered for the symposium.

1445-1500: Closing Remarks

*Please note that signup for the MVA Workshop is first come first served and registration will be capped at TWENTY participants – we will be shipping the supplies to participants enrolled and have limited supplies

Registration open February 16 - April 9, 2021. NOTE: Registration for the MVA Workshop ends March 15, 2021.

Registration capacity: MVA workshop = 20 students. Counselling workshop = 40 students (may release more spots as facilitators become available). General sessions (morning lectures and afternoon panel) = 300 students.
