Celebrating Indigenous Arts in Algonquin Territory
Celebrate modern Indigenous arts at the 11th annual Asinabka Film & Media Arts Festival, a local grassroots festival showcasing diverse Indigenous arts from Turtle Island and beyond.
This year’s festivities include an outdoor film screening, a festival-curated art exhibition, screenings of over 50 Indigenous films, a music showcase, and the second edition of our groundbreaking 2-Spirit Ball. - Opening night outdoor film screening is free to attend
- $15 per day pass (all films and programs screening that day)
- $5 per film or program (at the door only)
- $35 for a Film Pass (all screenings)
- $20 Advance / $25 at the door for 2-Spirit Ball & Music Showcase
- $50 for an All-Access Pass - Save on admission and fees with one ticket purchase
- Art show opening at Gallery 101 is free to attend
All events are all-ages, with all-ages access lifting at 11 pm the night of the 2-Spirit Ball & Music Showcase.

Festival Opening & Outdoor Film Screening Wednesday, August 10, 7 PM-11 PM
Club SAW Courtyard
Celebrate the opening night of the Festival under the stars. Asinabka will have a guest food vendor on-site and the bar will be open to serve refreshments. Plan to stay after the screening to mingle with other audience members.
Film Screening Thursday, August 11, 1 PM- 11 PM
Each day of films features five or more screenings of feature films and collections of short films. Programming details TBA. Tickets to individual screenings are available at the door for $5.

Gallery 101
Celebrate the opening of a brand new visual art show curated for the Asinabka audience. Join us for a vernissage at Gallery 101 with works by Indigenous relations from near and far. Light refreshments will be served.

Asinabka’s immersive performance arts experience includes a Music Showcase and the second edition of our groundbreaking 2-Spirit Ball. Happening at Club SAW and the Ottawa Art Gallery, it’s just a quick jump between these two parties.
The 2-Spirit Ball centres the Indigenous 2SLGBTQQIA+ community and welcomes all who are ready to celebrate a night that’s dedicated to a 2SLGBTQQIA+ space. Spotlighting Indigiqueer talent, expect exciting presentations with amped-up style and an animated space that’s unlike any other.
