About this event
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT - WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING WAITLIST REQUESTS FOR TICKETS. WE WILL NOTIFY YOU IF WE HAVE CANCELLATIONS.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST IN OUR EVENT. PLEASE FOLLOW THINKSPOTBURLINGTON AND LOWVILLE FESTIVAL IF YOU WISH TO RECEIVE NOTICES ABOUT FUTURE EVENTS.
Come join our 10th Winter Solstice celebration on Wednesday, December 21st from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
At 6:00 pm we will begin by coming together over food, fire, and crafts; then moving to multiple performers sharing their gifts and talents and leading us through a time of music and stories to celebrate the beauty of winter, long nights, and colder weather.
The evening will feature performances from Myriad Ensemble conducted by Elise Naccarato, Lacey Hill, Anju Kakkar, Terri-Lynn Ledger, Hannah Fogel, and Michael Mulrooney, with a special guest appearance by Walt Rickli, Sculptor and creator of the beloved public sculpture gardens in Lowville.
All ages and stages welcome (solo or part of a group)!
Reservations are required and tickets are free. We are asking for financial contributions at the event, and suggested minimums are $20 per person or $50 per family.
100% of all contributions will be donated to supporting #GiveTheGiftOfWarmth #KeepPeopleWarmThisWinter by using 50% to support people experiencing homelessness and provided to Men's Street Ministry that serves Hamilton and Brantford; and 50% to the people of Ukraine.
Many thanks to the City of Burlington, Arts and Culture Fund for their 2022 support of the performing artists.
Note: Kune Hua will be leading a quiet time of reflection and guided meditations from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Winter Solstice officially begins at 4:47pm ET when we will honour the lighting of the fire. All are welcome, no reservations required.
