The Osgoode Cup National Undergraduate Mooting Competition is intended to introduce undergraduate students to mooting, a form of public speaking common in law school. Held for the first time in 2005, the Osgoode Cup has been going strong since its inception. The tournament takes place at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

For the full website, videos of past moots, and other information, please see the main website at: http://www.osgoodecup.com/

While named an Undergraduate moot, participation has been broadened to include those who are not legal professionals. In order to compete at the Osgoode Cup, both members of each team must:

- Neither member may be (or have ever been) enrolled in a Juris Doctor, LL.B. or equivalent program that leads to being licensed as a Lawyer;

- Members may be enrolled in other degree programs, including diplomas, certificates, bachelors, masters or doctorate programs;

- Neither member may be a licensed Paralegal by March 11, 2023; and,

- Neither member may be a current applicant through the NCA system for transfer of foreign legal credentials or have attended law school outside of Canada.

Any changes regarding partnerships must be communicated to the Osgoode Cup Committee prior to the event.

Note: The organizers are not responsible for checking the qualifications of those who certify that they meet the above criteria. Should a participant believe that another participant does not meet the above, they must submit a non-anonymous complaint to andrew@monkhouselaw.com and set out the reason and evidence behind their belief.

Ticket Information

Individual registration is not permitted. Please have all information relating to each team member ready upon purchase. You may not purchase more than one ticket per team in a single transaction.

Please note that the Osgoode Cup organizers reserve the right to limit the number of teams participating from each school. Each school can register up to twelve (12) teams. Once your institution has exceeded 12 teams, Osgoode Cup reserves the right to bar more teams from your institution from registering. This will be the only situation where refunds will be issued.

Out of Ontario and Quebec

If you are attending from a school outside of Ontario or Quebec, you will receive a 25% discount on ticket prices. Please email us to receive the code for this discount before purchasing a ticket. DO NOT purchase a regular ticket as we will not be able to issue you a refund.

You may not share this code with anyone else, and if you do receive the code from someone at your institution, you are still required to submit proof of enrolment before purchasing this ticket. If you do not send proof of enrolment prior to purchasing a ticket, your ticket will not be honoured and you will not be registered for the competition.

There is a strict no-refund policy for this competition.
