2026 Plant ID for Pruning Workshop
Overview
Pruning confidently starts with knowing exactly what you’re looking at—and many shrubs and small trees can fool even experienced landscapers.
This half-day, hands-on workshop is designed to sharpen your plant identification skills so you can prune correctly, safely, and at the right time.
A companion to our annual Pruning Workshops, this session gives you and your team a solid foundation in identifying the most common landscape plants you work with every day. We begin indoors at the Surrey Nature Centre, where instructor Jamie Lamont will guide you through key plant families, identification features, and practical tips you can apply immediately.
From there, we head outdoors to nearby public plantings for a guided plant walk—an opportunity to put your new skills into practice and build confidence in real-world settings.
If you’re collecting continuing education units, bring your program details and let us know at check-in.
