Event Details

Potential - it is in all of us.

Yet, some families are not able to realize their potential because poverty stacks the odds against them. Research says that families living on low income regularly face a struggle for food, less opportunities for education, more health problems and a shorter life expectancy. The odds say that if poverty continues the future will be hard.

But what if YOU could change the odds? The good news is you can.

Join us as we share stories of our preventative work in low income neighbourhoods across Waterloo Region – together we are Changing the Odds!

Guest Speaker:

Born in Mbarara, Uganda, local author Tasneem Jamal will share her family’s escape from her homeland as told in her debut novel Where the Air is Sweet.

Reception at 5:00 p.m. - Dinner at 5:45 p.m.
