Welcome to the 2nd Annual Art for Healthcare Professionals Symposium!

The Windsor Interprofessional Health Student Collaboration invites you to join us on Saturday 26 October 2019 at the Medical Education Building at UWindsor to explore, through artistic expressions, the illness experience and our future roles as healthcare providers.

CREATING ART CAN HELP US REFLECT ON OUR ROLE AS HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS AND IS ALSO SUPER FUN!

Schedule for the Symposium:
8:45-9:00 Check-in with coffee
9:00-10:00 Symposium Opening and Keynote address
10:15-12:15 Workshop session 1

---------------------------------------------------

At this symposium we will start with a keynote address (details to be released soon). We will then take part in two 2hour hands-on workshop sessions! Our workshops are still under development however we are planning to have workshops in:

  1. Dance
  2. Narrative medicine
  3. Painting

After the workshops we will have a short closing ceremony to share what we have worked on in the workshop sessions.

The Windsor Interprofessional Health Student Collaboration aims to bring health students from St. Clair’s College, the University of Windsor, and the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry. Any students attending health professional programmes at these schools are welcome to attend this symposium. A $10 registration fee will be collected, to help cover some of the costs of the symposium including workshop facilitators, materials and snacks! Students will be requested to bring a canned food item on the conference day, to be donated to the Downtown Mission following the symposium. If you are interested in taking part in this symposium please register!

A follow up email will be sent in mid-October for workshop signup.
