We're proud to say that we are back for our second year! The event had so much success and we had so much fun doing it that of course we had to bring it back for another round! Last winter, the Edmonton Food Bank had seen an increase to 17,000 people needing their hampers per month. With the economic downturn that has adversely affected Edmonton and much of Alberta, the Edmonton Food Bank has seen an even bigger increase to 21,000 people asking for assistance each month. This along with hundreds of partner agencies who have seen an increased need as well. So with the need even greater this year, we have much bigger goals and are planning to make this an even bigger and better event!
***The entry fee is the same as last year: ONE FROZEN TURKEY OR// FESTIVE DRY GOODS with 100% of the proeeds going to the Edmonton Food Bank!***
Last year, we raised over $1600 and raised nearly 600kg of food; with over 100 participants coming for the inaugural event. This year, we are hoping to push the attendance to 200 and raise over 1000kg of food for the Edmonton Food Bank! We will have food and drink available after the race, and incredible prizes once again up for grabs!
The course will be running from Rundle Park, and will stretch over a 5 km, 10 km and 25 km course. The course will mainly consist of double track gravel trails, but being as it is winter, we expect these to be snow-packed. There will be a little bit of pavement, but essentially we are aiming for this to be about 80% trail, 20% paved. The 5km will have the most pavement; with the 10 km and 25 km being a mix of double-track, single-track and little pavement. These trails will challenge you and allow you to see some of the best that Edmonton's river valley has to offer!

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
There are two large parking lots directly at the event that will be more than ample for everyone attending. We encourage carpooling though!
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Last year many asked if the routes were stroller/chariot friendly. Although we assured those people that the 5 km was, no chariots showed up last year. This year, with more trail planned, we would advise that the routes will not be chariot friendly.
Dogs-we welcome dogs to run the event with you while on leash! Unfortunately the venue is not pet-friendly so your pets will not be able to come into the venue after the event. Please plan for this as we also don't want anyone leaving their pets in their vehicle when it is very cold out.
