Event description

Description

Learn the basics of 3D solid body modelling. Solid body modelling is a powerful tool for the design and manufacturing of objects. Solid modelling allows makers to design their parts in a digital space, to exact specifications. Parts can then be adapted for 3D printing, CNC milling or pattern making. Digital models can also be used to create animations, or custom graphics.

In this course students will learn the basic functions available in 3D CAD (computer aided design) software. They will gain the skills to design basic objects for use in their own projects. Up to 6 students per course.
This course is for absolute beginners to 3D CAD. If you have prior experience then this course will be too basic. Stay tuned for intermediate and advanced courses.

The students are required to bring their own laptops to the course with Fusion360 by Autodesk already installed. This software is offered free to students and hobbyists. A link to the minimum specifications of the laptop is at the bottom of the page.

This course is 6 hours long and will require participants to bring a bagged lunch. Tickets are non refundable. If you for some reason can’t make it to the course please contact us and we will endeavour to help fill the spot with someone else. We make no guarantees that we will be able to do that.

Event location and further instructions will be emailed out to participants upon ticket purchase.
