Event description

Description

Are you a high school student that wants to learn about creating a lasting impact in the lives of people locally and abroad? Do you want to learn how to apply your technical skills to solve real-world problems?

The Third Annual Minds in Design Conference is a one-day event focused on solving social, economic, and environmental issues and creating systemic change. It is organized by Engineers Without Borders (EWB) UCalgary.

Hosted at the University of Calgary, the conference is ideal for students looking to improve their practical and analytical skills. This year’s theme is Innovation and Impact and focuses on solving real-world issues using design thinking and creative problem solving.

The conference includes presentations, workshops, and a competition. The presentations and workshops range from ethical case studies to technical workshops and provide an exceptional opportunity to learn, grow, and develop new skills. The competition will allow teams of 4 students to solve a real-world challenge using the skills they have gained through the presentations and workshops as well as their past skills and knowledge.

Lunch will be provided. Remember to bring a water bottle and some snacks for the day!

Students can register individually or as part of a team (we will group everyone into teams of four for the competition). Invite your friends!
