On February 1, 2022, the College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan, in partnership with the host department, Mechanical Engineering, will celebrate the achievements of alumnus Myron Stadnyk (BE’85) at the 45th C.J. Mackenzie Gala of Engineering Excellence. Each year, the gala recognizes an alumnus who has achieved a position of eminence within their profession and honours their achievements. They are recognized as the evening’s Distinguished Lecturer and are inducted into the College of Engineering’s Alumni Wall of Distinction.
The College of Engineering looks forward to an evening with one of its most notable alumni, joined by engineering colleagues, industry professionals, faculty, staff and students to celebrate engineering excellence!
All guests of the 2022 C.J. Mackenzie Gala must be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination checks will be completed by Prairieland Park staff upon entrance.
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Founded in 1976, the college’s flagship event brings together students, faculty and staff from the College of Engineering to connect with engineering professionals, prominent companies and organizations across the province, as well as alumni. The event has become known within the Saskatoon engineering community as the College of Engineering’s premier event for engineers to gather, celebrate and listen to a distinguished alumnus.
ABOUT THE DISTINGUISHED LECTURER:
The College of Engineering, in partnership with the host department of Mechanical Engineering, is honoured to celebrate Myron Stadnyk (BE’85) as the 45th C. J. Mackenzie Distinguished Lecturer.
Myron M. Stadnyk has over 35 years of oil and gas experience and is the former President and CEO of ARC Resources Ltd., retiring in 2020. Mr. Stadnyk was the first operations employee at ARC after the company’s initial public offering to progress to Chief Operating Officer, President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to ARC, Mr. Stadnyk worked with a major oil and gas company in both domestic and international operations. Mr. Stadnyk is a leader and change-maker with his dedication to volunteering and serving on numerous boards like Prairie Sky Royalty, STARS Ambulance, Mancal Group and as a Director at Crescent Point Energy. He is Chair of our college's Engineering Advancement Trust which connects alumni to fundraise and support the next generation of engineers the world needs.
The evening's menu is handcrafted by the head chef at Prairieland Park and celebrates Myron's Saskatchewan-Ukrainian heritage:
- Ukrainian Borscht Soup topped with a dollop of sour cream and served with a rye bun.
- Chicken Kiev – a chicken breast filled with a garlic & herb butter, drizzled with a creamy lemon grass sauce.
- Ukrainian Dill Potatoes – baby yellow potatoes combined with fresh dill, garlic & sunflower oil.
- Oven roasted glazed carrots
- Trio of Poppy seed bar, Ukrainian apple studel, and Pampushky filled with Saskatoon berry.
- Coffee and tea service
For those with food allergies or dietary restrictions, you will be able to select a declare your allergy/dietary restriction during the ticket purchasing process and the chef at Prairieland Park will make a custom meal to accommodate your needs.
