Description

SOLD OUT

Fifty photographers have captured the success stories of 50 George Brown alumni who were once newcomers to Canada. The 50X50 exhibit, part of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival, celebrates George Brown’s 50th anniversary, our diversity, and the changing face of Toronto.

This exclusive launch event will take place on May 10, 2018 and will showcase these stunning portraits, created by established and emerging photographers. The portraits will be on display in the main lobby at our Waterfront Campus (51 Dockside Dr.) for launch of the exhibit May 10th and for the entire month of May.

The 50 portrait subjects represent George Brown graduates over the past five decades from 37 different countries of origin. They say George Brown College had a significant impact on their settlement and integration into Canadian life.

Each portrait will be displayed on a 20 x 24 sheet affixed to interior pillars in the lobby at Waterfront Campus. We suggest you download a free QR code app before attending the exhibition. Each portrait has a unique QR code providing access to the stories behind the 50 portraits.
