WHAT: 5.5er Canoe Trip
WHERE: Algonquin Park, Ontario
WHEN: June 23-26, 2016
WHO: Adults (18+) with Type 1 diabetes + 5.5ers/T3s
Whether it’s your first or one hundredth trip, we want to paddle with you.
Are you a 5.5er? Are you someone who has someone in their life living with Type 1 diabetes who wants to get out and meet some other 5.5ers, share experiences and have some fun on a Canoe Trip tailored just for 5.5ers and their T1s? Join Connected in Motion for our 5.5er Canoe Trip. Register as an individual, or bring your Type 1 along for the trip too!
This summer, join us in beautiful Algonquin Park. This is a chance to explore the lakes and woods of Ontario’s near north with fellow T1s and with the people that support us. We will be swapping tips and tricks of healthy living with T1, and sharing our experiences with our 5.5er/T3 friends.
As always, the 5.5er Canoe Trip will cater to a wide range of skill levels and experience, but will be very limited in space. We will be accepting 14 participants, both with Type 1 Diabetes, and without. (If you would like to canoe with a group of only T1s please check out our Annual Canoe Trip here.) Need some canoeing tips? No problem! Basic skill instruction opportunities can be provided on the Thursday pre-trip – Let us know if you are interested!
WHERE ARE WE GOING? This year, we are headed to the Rain Lake district of Algonquin Provincial Park. That's access point 4 on your Algonquin Park map, just outside Kearney, Ontario. Detailed Directions Here.
Yes, paddling and portaging will be included.
