5th Annual DeGroote Interprofessional Health Leadership Conference (DIHLC)
Event Information
Description
The DeGroote Interprofessional Health Leadership Conference (DIHLC) is a truly interprofessional effort between students from McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Medicine and the DeGroote School of Business, as well as the McMaster Nursing program. The conference strives to bridge the gap between the variety of professions on both the medical and business sides of health care and to encourage collaboration by the health care leaders of tomorrow.
This year, as in previous years, the conference will draw a diverse group of students, professionals and executives in health care administration and policy, e-health, medicine, nursing, pharmacy and the allied health professions.
Health care providers need to change along with the populations they serve - but how? As the culture in health care shifts from one of remediation to one of prevention, organizations are looking for creative ways to provide their patients with the tools and processes to take active ownership of their health. Fittingly, the theme for this year’s DeGroote Interprofessional Health Leadership Conference (DIHLC) is Innovation in Health Care, with a focus on the following four areas: Medical Devices, Information Technology, Health Systems, and Health Finance.
Our speakers represent both the clinical and administrative sides of health, and offer a broad perspective of health system issues as experts in health technology, service delivery, policy and funding.
By attending DIHLC 2013, delegates will gain an appreciation for the influence that the administrative and clinical domains have on each other, and will have the opportunity to learn from true health system leaders on how inter professional collaboration can motivate system change.
Please join us for the 5th annual DIHLC on September 21st, 2013 at the DeGroote School of Business at the Ron Joyce Centre in Burlington, ON.
