Description

During pregnancy, your body is going through many transitions and changes, as you begin to welcome growing baby into your womb space. In this pre-natal yoga workshop you will be guided in connecting with your body and baby, by inviting connection with your maternal instinct through intuitive movement. Together we will allow instinct to shine through, and challenge your ego and that voice inside your head that tells you ‘I can’t do this.’ This workshop will allow you to build a community to connect with and find support in, and will offer education on how you can cultivate your own journey into conscious Motherhood and create and move into your own birth space, feeling empowered and ready.

In this series of workshops you will:

- Learn about the benefits of specific yoga postures (asanas) that can be used to prepare you and your body for birth, and postures that you can use as potential active birthing positions
- Learn about the release of specific hormones that are present in your body throughout pregnancy that prepare your physical body for birth, but that also help you bond and connect with baby in the womb
- Learn about the use and benefits of specific breath-work (pranayama) that will help soothe you and baby, but that can also be used during your pregnancy, and during the rush and contractions of labor
- Connect with the power of your voice, and it’s unique vibration to bond and connect with baby
- Learn about the importance of building community, to feel supported throughout, during and after your pregnancy
- Learn about how to reclaim your power throughout your pregnancy and birthing process by connecting with your inner guidance and reclaiming the voice of that guidance system
- Learn how to own and protect your birth space
- Cultivate the tools and coping mechanisms you need to feel empowered and ready for your journey through pregnancy and the rushes of labor
- Learn how to allow instinct, and challenge ego
- Learn how to connect with and listen to your intuition
- Learn how to connect with and unleash the wealth of wisdom and knowledge that your body naturally and instinctually holds as a giver and sustainer of life
- Learn how to unearth the torrents of inspiration throughout this transitional time
- Learn how to incorporate an active meditation into your daily life and practice, in order to cultivate the power of mind to get through the discomforts of the labor process
- Learn which foods to avoid
- Learn which functional and therapeutic foods are safe to use throughout and during pregnancy
- Learn how to live more clean and how to lessen baby’s exposure to harmful toxins/pollutants throughout and during pregnancy

Schedule: 2 hours long • 1 hour will be devoted to a feel-good yoga practice & 1 hour will be devoted to community-building exercises/educational talks

Please bring:

- A mat
- Blocks and/or bolsters if you have any
- Your favourite pillow if you’d like to use it in your final resting pose
- An open Heart and mind
- Any snacks you may need to nibble on throughout the practice to maintain your blood sugar levels
- A bottle of water or a beverage of your choice to stay hydrated throughout the practice

*if you do not have a mat or props that you may want to use throughout this practice please message me directly, as I have a limited amount for your use that I am happy to bring and share with you.

*There is no experience in yoga required. All levels are welcome. Women in all trimesters are welcome, including women in their fourth trimester, which is more commonly referred to as the postpartum phase.

*Please arrive no later than 5 minutes prior to the session start-time (ideally 10-15 minutes before). And once you enter the space, please honour it with minimal noise, to allow people to tune into the present moment and into their bodies.

About Anja:

Anja is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist who leads a plant-based, whole food & whole Hearted life. She has been a yoga practitioner for over 6 years now, and became a Registered 200-Hour Yoga Teacher, and 85-Hour Pre-Natal Yoga Teacher at The Passion Yoga School (in affiliation with The Yoga Alliance) found in the depths of the jungle in Puerto Vijeo, Costa Rica.

Anja has used the practice of yoga, breath-work and meditation to heal the afflictions of her mind, to alleviate symptoms of her anxiety & depression, to cultivate & harness her fiercest creative potential, to awaken & calm her senses and to find stillness & silence in the midst of adversity and stress. The discipline rooted in the practice of yoga, has taught Anja how to master the art of her b r e a t h & therefore the art of her e m o t i o n s. Anja wishes to share this Gift with the world • •• a Gift that is every Beings, b i r t h right. Anja hopes to show every one of her clients & students that they have been given & blessed with all of the raw materials to H E A L themselves through sacred acts of self-Love, self-exploration and self-awareness.
