Event description

Description

DR. BRIAN GOLDMAN, DAEMON FAIRLESS, VIVEK SHRAYA

Info: 2-3:30pm, REVUE STAGE

Three compelling authors showcase their new non-fiction works that, in different ways, focus on the need for acceptance and empathy in consecutive on-stage interviews with local author and teacher, Amber Dawn. Rupi Kaur writes, “it is a gift to dive into Vivek Shraya’s heart and mind.” The multidisciplinary trans artist explores how masculinity was imposed on her as a boy—and how it continues to haunt her as a woman in I’m Afraid of Men. Daemon Fairless investigates the fear of men further with Mad Blood Stirring: an examination of where men’s violent impulses stem from. CBC White Coat, Black Art host, Dr. Brian Goldman, travelled the world to find the origins of kindness, as shared in The Power of Empathy.
