7th Annual Groovin' in the Park - Friday FREE RSVP

The Main Ingredient, in partnership with Hot Stepper and NuFunk Concerts, presents a new Friday night edition of Groovin' in the Park. Friday Nite Vibes will feature a headline set by legendary Toronto Paul E Lopes. Lopes has been moving dancefloors since 1983, helmed his own radio show Vibes & Stuff on CIUT 89.5FM, and released his own curated compilation record called Whatnaut:House on Virgin/EMI in 2002. Lopes will have his DJ friends join him, with sets from Jason Palma, Mike Tull, Dave Campbell, and hosting by Kwame and Carlos & Pedro from Hot Stepper (Bump N' Hustle). Live percussion will be provided the GURU Bros. Latin vibes will be selected by Juana Go-Gó and La Rumba Buena's DJ Blancon, while The Main Ingredient deejays Agile and DJ Mensa will weave their talents between these DJ sets hosted by Wan. Join us for a legacy roster of Toronto deejays and talent!

The Main Ingredient (TMI) has been providing our Toronto community with the soul they love for over 15 years. TMI became known for a monthly party that ran over a span of 8 years with DJ's skillfully playing a mix of R&B, hip hop, house, reggae, funky jazzy vibes and more. TMI have since been delivering live concerts and collaborations that continue to bring soulful vibes. We've presented special sessions with local gems like Tanika Charles, Zaki Ibrahim, and LAL, while also throwing Canadian debut concerts with Aloe Blacc, Little Simz, Gabriel Garzon-Montano, The Foreign Exchange, Platinum Pied Pipers, Jesse Boykins III, and "little" after-party with Janelle Monae. Alongside other feature events including Bilal, Teedra Moses, Saul Williams, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

Hot Stepper Productions is one of Toronto's premier club event companies operating since 1995. Currently Hot Stepper organizes Toronto's deep, soulful house events "Garage 416" since 1998 and the soulful, funky "Bump N' Hustle" events since 1996 and our Hot Stepper Sunday afternoon patio parties since 2009. We also continue to collaborate with a kindred community of artists and promoters in Toronto and beyond.
