8th Annual EMS Research Day
Join us for the 8th Annual EMS Research Day! We have planned an action-packed day of presentations on ongoing and completed EMS/Paramedic research projects from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and beyond.
This year's keynote speaker is Dr. Laurie Morrison the Robert & Dorothy Pitts Research Chair in Acute Care & Emergency Medicine, Professor and Clinician Scientist in the Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto and Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute at St Michael’s Hospital. She is the Director of Rescu, a resuscitation research program focusing on the evaluation and implementation of prehospital and transport medicine time sensitive interventions in acute emergencies (www.rescu.ca). She has established a collaborative network to conduct randomized controlled trials and outcome validation studies in prehospital resuscitation research. She is a US National Institute of Health, Canadian Institute of Health Research and Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and Brain Canada funded investigator. She contributed to the International Liaison Council on Resuscitation Advance Life Support Taskforce Consensus on Science Statements and the AHA Guidelines for 2005, 2010 and 2015.
The emcee will be Colin Flynn, the Manager at Life Flight. There will be 12 oral research presentations, as well as research posters on display. Prizes will be awarded for top research projects, and door prizes for attendees!
All are welcome; but please rsvp by "buying" a free ticket at Eventbrite, so we can be accurate with our catering order. That's right...lunch is included! (Paramedics: there are also EHS CEU credits for attending)
