1. 9 Critical Steps to Reducing Health Inequities: a 2.5 hour Seminar in which you will learn about:

  • the 9 critical steps:
    1.Understanding the need for public health to address health inequities
    2.Multidisciplinary competencies for reducing health inequities
    3.The evidence base for health equity practices
    4.Cultural safety, cultural humility and mindfulness
    5.Health equity impact assessments
    6.Evaluating community programs with a cultural safety lens
    7.Planning for reducing health inequities
    8.Leadership for reducing health inequities
    9.Networks and Communities of Practice
  • the differences between the social determinants of health and the social determinants of health inequities
  • creating just institutions
  • using various forms of evidence to inform your practice

Target audience: Public health professionals

The 9 Critical Steps seminar provides the theoretical basis for the seminar on Managed Networks of Communities of Practice, however, attendees have the option of attending any one of the two seminars, or both.

Two sessions of this seminar are being offered at a cost of $25.00 per person per session (+ taxes & service fees):

  • Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 9:00 am to 11:30 am
  • Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 9:00 am to 11:30 am

2. Managed Networks of Communities of Practice - An Innovative Knowledge Mobilization System: a 2.5 hour Seminar in which you will learn about:

  • An original, innovative system that combines adaptive online communication\collaboration platforms with the management of the social & political aspects of collaborative activity to mobilize knowledge in ways that are consistent with both the evidence-informed culture of public health and its goal of reducing health inequities.

Target audience: All knowledge workers who view organizational or practice knowledge as a key asset worth investing in!

Three sessions of this seminar are being offered at a cost of $25.00 per person per session (+ taxes & service fees):

  • Tuesday, January 16, 2018, 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 pm
  • Wednesday, January 17, 2018, 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
  • Thursday, January 18, 2018, 8:30 am to 11:00 am

With each single-seminar ticket purchase ($25.00 + taxes &service fees), coffee, tea and snacks are provided

With each two-seminar purchase ($50.00 + taxes & service fees) on either January 16 or 17 (not available January 18), a hot buffet lunch is provided between the seminars as well
