Building on the Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care Course, ACE focuses on the support worker’s scope of practice.
During the times of physical distancing, we will be offering this course virtually.
Performance Objectives:
1. Develop trust and therapeutic relationships with the people and families you care for
2. Learn effective ways to communicate with people with cognitive impairments
3. Identify your role in maintaining confidentiality
4. Enhance your team communication skills
5. Learn ways to recognize and manage conflict
6. Develop a self-care plan
7. Appreciate the importance of the support worker role in observing and reporting issues in the physical domain
8. Learn strategies for relieving pain, breathlessness, confusion and other symptoms
You must be able to attend all in-class sessions from 6pm - 9pm on:

The Fundamentals of Hospice Palliative Care Course is a pre-requisite to take this course. Please bring your textbook with you.
You will only be notified if there are not enough learners to run the course.
