Event description
"A Call to Creativity", a presentation about the nature of creativity which, Freeman Patterson believes, applies to all forms of art.

About this Event

Freeman Patterson is an internationally renowned photographer and writer. He has taught innumerable workshops throughout the world and has authored 15 books. Freeman is the recipient of many awards including The Order of Canada, The Photography Society of America, and the North American Nature Photography Association to name but a few.

To quote Freeman Patterson, about his art, "Every artist is, first of all, a craftperson thoroughly knowledgeable about the materials, tools, and techniques of his or her particular medium and skilled in using many of them. However, in my view, no amount of technical knowledge and competence is, of itself, sufficient to make a craftsperson into an artist. That requires caring --- passionate caring about ultimate things."

"It's about the person who brings the creativity to the task and the tools."

"How do I stimulate the creativity I've been given?"

This 1 1/2 hr. long presentation is comprised of an opening talk followed by images and a commentary and is designed for photographers, painters, and to teachers of every sort.

Freeman Patterson lives at Shampers' Bluff, New Brunswick, Canada

The Harbour City Photography Club sincerely welcomes this opportunity to share a presentation from such an esteemed and celebrated photographer and author. We thank our local London Drugs for their additional support.
