Join us for a day to celebrate being a writer!

Our day starts at 10AM with a talk by a local editor, Lynne Melcome

"Why Hire an Editor? A Writer’s Guide to Finding and Working with an Editor” answers every question you ever had about hiring an editor to help you make your book the very best it can be. This workshop asks and answers questions including:

- Who needs an editor?

- What does an editor do?

- When should I hire an editor?

- Where can I find a good editor?

- What should I pay an editor?

“Why Hire an Editor?” is led by Lynne Melcombe, a writer for over 30 years and an editor for over 20 years. Lynne edits fiction and nonfiction of a range of genres. She works at the developmental, substantive, stylistic, copy, and proofreading levels of editing, and provides manuscript evaluations.

Lynne holds Certificates in Writing, Editing, and Publishing from Simon Fraser University’s award-winning Writing and Publishing Program, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction Writing from University of King’s College, the only program of its kind in Canada. She’s published hundreds of articles, edited dozens of books, and is working on her own first book.

To learn more about Lynne, see samples of books she’s edited, and read testimonials from satisfied clients, visit her website at lynnemelcombe.com.
