About this event
Given the many global events and social justice movements that we have seen emerge over the last few years, the principles of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) have been at the core of how we will engage, build and reinvent. It is also at the center of how we do our community work and build relationships with members of underserved communities.
Join us for a foundational session on the key concepts of DEI where we will explore the topics of social identity, oppression, intersectionality, privilege and allyship.
This session will support participants in creating a solid foundation for equity, inclusion and belonging in their communities by building an understanding of anti-oppression concepts, needs of their communities and the responsibility or diverse identities.
This session will be delivered by Allison Hector-Alexander, Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division, Regional Municipality of Durham.
This event is organized by the Durham Local Immigration Partnership.
