This class will focus on some of Peru's most traditional staples such as- corn, potatoes, and Aji peppers ( a mild, sweet spicy pepper) amongst others. We will talk about food fusion, Peru's staple ingredients and where you can find (they are more common than you think), the history behind the dishes and all about "Sazon", how to get that traditional Peruvian flavor. If you have never tried Peruvian food, this is your chance to learn how to make dishes at home using seasonal ingredients which are available at our fingertips!
All dishes are vegetarians. Vegan can be accommodated upon request, let us know at least 72 hours prior to event starts.
On the menu tonight:
Aji verde sauce - made with roasted vegetables, cilantro and lime. A sauce that can be drizzled on protein or served with sourdough bread and veggies.
Pastel de Choclo (Peruvian Corn Savoury Cake) - A pudding style layered dish which is both savoury and sweet. The peruvian Andean corn gives this dish its unique caramelized layers and is reminiscent of our Shepherds pie
Locro de Zapallo - Peruvian pumpkin stew made with Aji chillies, pumpkin, corn and potatoes
Baked Pears with honey and walnuts and served with “Nice Cream” , vegan ice cream made in class and chocolate sauce!
