A Good Life in Community: The Finale
Date and time
Join us for the screening of the film 'Intelligent Lives' at Trestle Brewing Company.
About this event
One of the primary goals for our Trillium-funded project, A Good Life in Community revolved around the education and capacity building of Parry Sound to better understand the need for inclusion in our community. As a means to achieve this objective, we invited local and provincial experts of various topics including housing, inclusive education and employment, and accessible/adaptive technology to three community events hosted around Parry Sound. For the finale of A Good Life in Community, we will screen a film that aims to both summarize our learning from the project AND continue the conversation of inclusion.
The film we will screen and then discuss briefly is titled Intelligent Lives. The film, produced by Dan Habib, seeks to "transform the label of intellectual disability from a life sentence of isolation into a life of possibility for people who have been systematically segregated".
Themes include employment, education and relationships.
