Event Details

Hogmanay (Scots: [ˌhoɡməˈneː], HUG-mə-NAY, Scottish English: [ˌhɔɡməˈneː] HOG-mə-NAY) is the Scots word for the last day of the year and is synonymous with the celebration of the New Year (Gregorian calendar) in the Scottish manner.

Join us January 3 for our annual scotch tasting complete with haggis, bagpipes and a New Year's celebration of all things Scot!

$65 includes a welcome Quidi Vidi beer followed by a sample of four scotch whiskeys, with interpretation led by acclaimed local author - and scotch blogger - Kevin Major. His blog - The Literary Dram matches a good spirit with a good book. "Literally doubling the pleasures of the dram."

Kevin's selections for our event range from the surprisingly affordable to the sublimely rare:

  • BALBLAIR 2002
  • TALISKER STORM
  • GLENFARCLAS 17 YEARS OLD HIGHLAND SINGLE MALT
  • BRUICHLADDICH OCTOMORE 6.1

Snacks and haggis, entertainment and more round out the evening.
