Event description

Description

Please join us for the launch of our community conversations. This year, we will discuss if and how the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms works in practice.

Our first discussion topic is racial equality: Is Black Lives Matter a response to systemic racism? Two prominent lawyers will lead the discussion, Shedrack C. Agbakwa and Laura Wilson.

Shedrack C. Agbakwa is a criminal defence and human rights lawyer who has worked closely with the Black community in the Greater Toronto Area.

Laura Wilson, a recent graduate of Osgoode Law School at York University, is a YLD Co-Chair of the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers.
