Event description

Description

Join us as we celebrate our newest exhibition, A Merrie May: The Role of Costumes in Spring Festivals. Come learn about the role of costume and performance during May Day and how it shaped cultural identity in early White Rock. The exhibition also showcases contemporary spring festivals of May Day and Beltane in the Lower Mainland.

We've had generous contributions from UBC Anthropology students and professor, wood workers, musicians, artists, the New Westminster Museum and Archives, and community organizers - these numerous contributions add up to quite a show!

We invite you to join us as we await the coming of Spring in this northern clime and prepare for a merrie May! More information about the exhibition content can be found on our website: http://www.whiterockmuseum.ca/exhibits/a-merrie-may/
