Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Balancing all of life’s demands can be stressful and time-consuming. It can often feel like there isn’t enough time to really connect with our family, friends, partners or roommates—it can even feel like another chore on our to-do list.

Parenthood brings great joy, but can also bring a new level of stress and worry. Learning how to manage our stress more effectively is the key to improving our quality of life and the enjoyment of this new stage.

With a new school year upon us, yet another kind of stress and anxiety presents itself. Students can also learn Mindfulness techniques to cope naturally with these pressures and focus on their present and future goals - and it all starts at home.

The good news is that we can all maintain a simple, uplifted home environment that others will enjoy and that will provide strength for us when we need it most.

In A Mindful Home, your event instructor, yoga therapist and registered psychologist, Katherine Rosenstein, will guide you through exercises, tips, meditations and talk about the importance of Mindfulness in your home; from communication and attunement with children, spouses, partners, parents, siblings, friends, and roommates, to the relationship with yourself and why it is the most important to help create a greater peace of mind. You’ll also learn the importance of living purposefully and being present, moment to moment, and experiencing without judgement.

Katherine will explore new cognitive strategies and coping skills for:

  • Managing stress related to parenting
  • Helping children manage their emotions, reduce their stress, and even develop greater empathy
  • Effectively communicating and creating emotional balance with others in your household
  • Understanding how to truly be with people and how to stay connected
  • Attuning to the needs of others, while respectfully asking for your personal needs to be met
  • Sharing space and finding your personal space

You’ll also learn the importance of living purposefully and being present, in the moment, and experiencing without judgement.

Discover the many benefits of Mindfulness in the home:

  • Reduce tension, stress and unwanted hostility
  • Improve communication and wellbeing in the home
  • Gather insight and learn to be responsive instead of reactive.
  • Keep circuits of compassion open both to self and others
  • Useful tool for self-regulation

Plus much more!

*This class also includes mindfulness exercises such as breath work and relaxation

You can attend alone, with a partner or a small group, although couples or groups who attend together may discover new ways to strengthen their relationships.
