COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PANELS

2-3 PM | Creating Care

with sab meynert (Artist, Writer & Tattoo Adornment) and Phoebe Chin (Art Therapist & Interdisiciplinary Artist), moderated by Abby Ho

Our first panel looks at the ways care is a crucial practice for both individual and community support. How do artists maintain balance within themselves while responding to their community's needs? Join the conversation as the artists share how they use and create art as forms of empathy, therapy, and comfort.

4-5:30 PM | Roundtable: Collective Conversation

with John Smith of 187 Augusta/TAYO Collective, Rain of Where Are You From (WAYF) Collective, and Arti Patel of Didihood, moderated by Jasmine Gui

This roundtable discussion features other pan-Asian artist collectives working in the city as they discuss their experiences, challenges and rewards of running a community arts organization, and the need for grassroots, inclusive creative spaces.

6:30-7:30 PM | Sensible Sustainability

with Rupal Shah (Strategic Programs Manager at Toronto Arts Council) and Tak Pham (Curator), moderated by Mirae Lee

In this panel, we’ll be delving into one of the hottest topics in the arts: money. What are some ways of ensuring financial sustainability as an emerging creative? How do you balance funding requirements and your personal interest? We promise a conversation full of good tips and resources!
