Fall series! “A Path Toward Stability” 

This series runs weekly on Wednesdays beginning Oct. 21st ending Dec. 2.

Would you like to carve out time for nourishing yourself? Perhaps top up your tank, get some rest & renewal, and soak up a little quiet time and space among a supportive community?

Join us for our fall Path Toward Stability series. This 7-week course is open to ANYONE interested in exploring mindfulness and emotional intelligence. Together we will look at themes such as: Expanding Awareness, Integrating Body & Mind, Living with Storms and Stress.

This series is designed to support individuals in the following areas:

* Identify & regulate emotions

* Actively listen and communicate

* Manage stress and anxiety

Our course breakdown is laid out with the following themes, however, keep in mind we may adjust along the way depending on our group’s needs and requests that come up:

1. COURSE CONNECTIONS: our course intentions are presented and we discuss our group approaches. You will be invited to introduce yourself and will be paired with a “Series Sidekick”. Everyone will test drive the various Zoom functions and we will also embody our first Moment of Awareness together. *Session #1 sets the foundation for the course and is a prerequisite for the series. 2. EXPANDING AWARENESS: the brain is often layering in information based on past experiences which creates limitations in our present moment awareness. This can lead to ruminating in unhelpful stories and assumptions. In this class, we will look at various perceptions and you will practice being present using all your senses and broadening your awareness. Moment of Awareness – Wheel of Awareness

3. DISCOVERING INSIDE: “The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes.” Marcel Proust. Self-awareness is considered the foundation of emotional intelligence. This session offers you time to pause and examine yourself from different angles and to be curious about what comes up. Moment of Awareness – Listening Deeply

4. INTEGRATING BODY & MIND: anytime we look at making a life change (i.e. relationships, diet, work, mental health, etc.) it helps to check in with the body. In this session we explore the wisdom of the body and how integrating our body and mind can support more sustainable change. Moment of Awareness – Body Scan

5. LIVING WITH STORMS & STRESS: thinking stress is “bad” and something to get rid of tends to produce more stress and tension. Stress is a part of life, just as storms are a part of weather. In this session our group engages in conversations about how to, more often, feel resilient and grateful even while experiencing life’s storms and stressors. Moment of Awareness – Wheel of Awareness

6. COURAGE AND VULNERABILITY: although many people are starting to recognize that vulnerability and courage are interrelated, many continue to perceive vulnerability as a weakness, and therefore have difficulty embracing it. In session #6 our class examines the many facets of vulnerability. You will be invited to embody its qualities as a way of developing strength and courage in your relationships. 7. UNIVERSAL KINDNESS & COMPASSION: the sessions leading up to this last class emphasize the value of cultivating kindness towards yourself, including how you treat yourself and talk to yourself. Over the weeks, you are invited to include close friends and family in your practice of kindness. In session #7 we examine ways to expand the ripple effect of kindness and compassion beyond our close community and into the world. Moment of Awareness – Self-Compassion and beyond
