Description
A Sound Mind II: Mental Health and Youth
Black Health Alliance invites you to its second annual forum, “A Sound Mind II: Mental Health and Youth”.
The objective of “A Sound Mind” is to start the conversation about mental health in the Black community and in so doing break the stigmas surrounding mental health. This year’s forum puts the spotlight on youth because they are often not heard and in many cases dismissed. The goal is to identify and develop strategies and supports for families and peers to help Black youth living with a mental illness(es).
This year's topics and speakers include:
- "What does Mental Illness look like for Black Youth Now?" Asante Haughton, Case Worker, Pathways to Education
-
"What can Diverse Black Communities do to Protect the Mental Health and Well-being of the Youth Population?" Akwatu Khenti, Director of Transformative Global Health, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health
-
"Onwards and Forwards" Jabari Lindsay, Manager of Youth Development, City of Toronto
Admission to the forum is free.
Please note, in an effort to keep the event green, please DO NOT PRINT YOUR TICKET. Simply mention your name at the registration desk.
Join the conversation using the hashtag #ASoundMind2016.
We look forward to seeing you there and wish you a sound mind.
