Event description
An interactive play and cooking lesson to understand the crucial role of migrant workers in Canada's food production.

About this Event

This event takes place on unceded lands belonging to the Katzie, Tsawwassen, Stó:lō, Saanich, Kwantlen, and Stz'uminus nations.

Whose hands are responsible for the food we eat? How do they feel about their working and living conditions? Understand the crucial role of migrant workers in Canada’s food production while you learn how to make the best pico de gallo in this interactive play and cooking lesson!

Co-hosted by the Teaching Support Staff Union (TSSU) and Fuerza Migrante:

Fuerza Migrante (previously Migrant Workers’ Dignity Association, MWDA) is an organization dedicated to fighting exploitation and injustice by building autonomous migrant power from below, through mutual aid and communal self-defense. By pooling our skills and resources together we aim to transform the world and be part of the struggles for migrant liberation in the stolen lands incorrectly understood as “Canada” and throughout the world.

This event is open to TSSU members, the SFU community, and invited guests.
