A tribute to Jack Riddell
Sat, 6 May 2017, 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM EDT
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT -
A special tribute will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in honour of the remarkable Jack Riddell to mark his upcoming investiture in the Ontario Agriculture Hall of Fame. Jack formally ended his 17-year run as a provincial MPP in Huron-Bruce in 1990, an incredible tenure that also included a period as Minister of Agriculture and Food from 1985-89. While he did not seek re-election in 1990, Jack has remained an active Liberal, a member of the board of the Huron-Bruce federal Liberals and a key player in the 2015 election campaign. The official ceremony to install Jack in the hall of fame takes place in Milton, on June 11. But we want to get the ball rolling early to celebrate this amazing character.
Please join us on Saturday, May 6, 2017, beginning at 4 p.m., to honour Jack in his hometown at the Dashwood Community Centre. We plan to serve a meal at about 5:30 p.m. followed by a tribute to Jack at about 6:30 and then some entertainment and social time.
The $15 admission price will cover the basic costs of the event and includes a meal, entertainment and cash bar. This event in Jack's honour is sponsored by the Huron-Bruce Federal Liberal Association but is open to all as Jack's friendships cross over party lines. And just to be clear, the funds being collected through ticket sales are NOT a donation to the federal Liberal party but will be used to cover the costs of the event. Any funds left over after we pay the bills will be given to Jack as a gift.
