Description


This event is a walking tour of the City of Asylum/Alphabet City followed by a visit to James Street Gastropub & Speakeasy for music and entertainment. City of Asylum/Alphabet City offers a place for exiled writers, artists, and musicians to work on and perform their art. For more information about what City of Asylum is and does please click here.
  • The tour starts/participants will meet at the Alphabet Reading Garden (1406 Monterey St.) and ends at Alphabet City (40 W. North Ave.)

  • From the tour you will learn about the Alphabet Reading Garden, City of Asylum House Publications (located on Samponia Way), about the writers, artists, and musicians who have lived in these houses, the writers, artists, and musicians who are currently contributing to City of Asylum and Alphabet City and much more.

  • After the tour, the night will continue at James St. Gastropub & Speakeasy for music and entertainment.

  • Ticket cost cover the tour and entry fee at James St. Gastropub
