Event description
The time has come to decolonize governance systems. It is necessary for community healing.

About this Event

The conference is the dissemination of the outcomes of SHHRC Research Grant, Aatsimapi - Connecting with Ancestral Spirit . Participants through the work of educators, politicians, healers and psychosocial practices will understand the conventional policies which re-victimize Indigenous people by reproducing colonial identities and contributing to the continuity of violence. Participants attending the conference with areas in Governments, reseachers, educators, and practitioners of policy , and curriculum will collectively elevate a consciousness for the revitalization of Indigenous knowledge, cultural practice and socio-medical care that renews relational bonds and kinship systems that are supportive in renewing "good relations" in society. The participants are invited to access ways to mobilize an understanding for the generation of knowledge and improve practices and policies.
