ABC Ottawa is pleased to host our Bright Lights program this fall on the Saturday mornings of November 5th, 12th, and 19th. The three week session will provide challenging extracurricular and educational opportunities for bright and gifted students, ranging in age from 6 - 14 years. With classes in Science and Tech, the Arts, and Mind and Body Awareness, there is sure to be something for your child!

- LEGO® Junior Robotics & Coding (Ages 7-8)
- Forensics Detectives (Ages 9+)
- Art of Espionage (Ages 8-12)
- Cryptography and Number Theory (Ages 12+)
- Fabric Art to Start (Ages 6-9)
- Mini-Medical School (Ages 9+) *This course runs from 9:00am-12:15pm
The following courses will be offered from 10:45am-12:15pm (Full descriptions in Tickets)
- Senior LEGO® Mindstorms®EV3 & NXT Robotics & Coding (Ages 9-14)
- Chemistry with Food (Ages 7-8)
- Fabric Art to Start (Ages 10-12)
- Intro to Improv (Ages 9-11)
How strict are the age guidelines for a course?
The ages listed for a course are followed closely. Factors for setting an age guideline and following it are: social groupings, physical abilities such as having manual dexterity, and course content. All of the classes are created to be challenging and stimulating for bright and gifted children.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
St. Paul High School is close to public transit stops and there is plenty of parking if you choose to drive.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Please bring a nut-free snack for your child if they are staying for both sessions. Please leave electronics and valuables at home.
Is my registration transferrable or refundable?
Registrations are not transferrable and there will be no reimbursement of course fees unless ABC has to cancel a course or there is a waitlist.
Can parents sit in on the classes?
Parents/guardians are welcome to stay on site, but are requested not to participate in class activities unless invited to do so by the instructor.
What is ABC's Liability?
While every effort will be made to ensure your child's safety, accidents can occur without any fault on the part of ABC, its volunteers, the child, or the facility where the activity is taking place. ABC Ottawa will not be held responsible in the case of accidental injury to anyone participating in the ABC Bright Lights program.
