Event Details

On June 6 – 7, 2011, at the University of Winnipeg, join the Canadian community of asset building practitioners, policy makers and funders who are involved in supporting the delivery of innovative asset building programs to people living on a low income.

ABLE 2011 will be filled with opportunities and possibilities—to exchange asset building tools and techniques, to learn from practitioners about current asset building topics, and to identify and create strategies to address key policy issues.

Two Learning Community workshops will build on significant steps that have already been taken to establish a Canadian Asset Building Community of Practice that will support a culture of open exchange of ideas, tools and resources, and promote the development and expansion of asset building programs as a strategy to reduce poverty in Canada.

Build your understanding of the who, what, where, when, why and how of asset building programs. Choose from four workshop tracks that feature community-based organizations, funders, financial institutions, and other stakeholders who have developed promising programs and practices, and who are actively promoting and delivering them in communities across Canada.

Who is this event for?  Asset building practitioners, policy makers and funders who are supporting the delivery of asset building programs.
