Event description

Description

In recognition of Aboriginal Day, the Faculty of Extension would like to welcome the public to attend a session of Indigenous teaching and the unveiling of Stewart Steinhauer’s stone carving Eaglechild.

The story of Eaglechild will be told; it’s a story that teaches us about responsibility, the interconnectedness of land, the elements, and how all of these intertwine during the various stages of life. After the teaching, guests will have the opportunity to meet the Steinhauer family and visit the Faculty of Extension’s newly developed Indigenous Gathering Space.

All are welcome.

Tuesday, June 20 | 2:30–4:30 pm

Tea & bannock: 2:30 pm
Teaching: 2:45–3:45 pm

Viewing of Eaglechild with the Steinhauser family and visiting of the Indigenous Gathering Space will occur right after the teaching.
